Yucaipa Animal Hospital has served the community for over 50 years. Our team is committed to offering our patients the highest quality veterinary medicine with compassion, care and professionalism. We maintain our records electronically to ensure consistency and thoroughness and reduce our environmental footprint. Storing electronic records allows you to take the doctor’s notes home to share with the rest of your family.

Yucaipa Animal Hospital is a multiple veterinary practice that specializes in different fields of veterinary medicine such as orthopedic surgery and cancer treatment.

Our Appointment Policy

While we encourage our clients to schedule appointments to reduce wait-time, we will always try to accommodate walk-ins to the best of our ability. For our client’s convenience, we also offer patient drop-off in the morning for scheduled surgeries and dentals. We also accept emergency cases during business hours.

Treatment Plan

Our doctors will present and discuss a treatment plan for your pet after the physical exam. The doctors will recommend the most common standard of pet health care. You will receive a full explanation of the veterinarians medical recommendations to assist you in make an informed decision as what is best for you and your pet, medically and financially. You have the right to decline any treatments.

This plan will estimate the likely cost range for the care of your pet. The plan may change if your pet is hospitalized or needs more care and testing. We understand that your pet may require involved veterinary care when you least expect it and when finances may be tight. We will work with you to offer treatment options that take cost into consideration. We value you and your animals and want to continue our relationship with you.

Prescribing Medication

Doctors of this practice uphold the principles of veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) to prescribe medication and authorize refill. In the interest of safety and the welfare of your pet, it is recommended that pets on long term medications have a health check at least every 6 months. These health checks are required to ensure the pet is on the correct drug and dosage, and there are no unwanted side effects. Often, a blood test or urine test may be required. Long term or lifelong medications are commonly prescribed for conditions such as arthritis, cardiac disease, diabetes, seizure control, etc.

Veterinary Prescription Drugs

Veterinary prescription drugs are those drugs restricted by federal law to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian [Section 503(f) Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act]. The law requires that the drug sponsor label such drugs with the statement: "Caution: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian."

Finance and Credit
